Does this LLM by itself qualify me to practise law in the UK?
No. This LLM is not, by itself, a licence to practise. In practice, students normally need an LLB or another route that satisfies the required foundational legal stage, and then must complete the professional requirements for the route they are pursuing. For solicitors, that means a degree or equivalent, the SQE assessments, qualifying work experience, and character and suitability requirements. For barristers, the academic component is normally met through a law degree or a non-law degree plus a law conversion route, followed by vocational training and pupillage.
Is this LLM what I need if I want to practise in arbitration-related legal work?
No. This LLM is not the basic qualification needed to become a practising lawyer. It is a higher-level law degree for deeper study and specialization. In most cases, students would usually need an LLB or another recognised first law qualification or route before moving on to the professional steps required for legal practice. So this LLM is better understood as an additional qualification that builds stronger knowledge and specialization, not the one qualification that gives practice rights on its own.
